We are the 4th grade class at St. Gabriel's Catholic
School in Austin, Texas. We have chosen this as
our annual class project because we really do
want to help the poor children of Safe
Passage. They live in a dump and have to sift
through garbage to find food. Many of them live
in cardboard boxes. God calls on us to help our
brothers. Safe Passage is an organization in Guatamala
that is helping these poor children with food,
clothing, and an education. And although we complain
about having to get up early and go to school,
we also know what a privelege it is to even be
able to go to school now that we have seen how
these children live.
In raising this money, we are going to fill
550 backpacks with school supplies, and bring
or send these to them hopefully at the end of
the school year. We are going to go to local
companies and ask for their help. We also need
your help. If you can donate any amount of money
to this endeavor, we will email you pictures
when we deliver the backpacks to the children.
And we will update you on what a difference
these backpacks have made on the children of
Safe Passage. Just give us your email address
along with your donation so that we can send
you the pictures.
Just $10 will buy a backpack with school
supplies for one child for the whole year
Just $100 will buy a backpack with school supplies
for 10 desperate children for a whole year!
You can make a huge difference in a childs
life. If we work together we can make it happen!
